In my dream, I am sitting on a white chair at a white table. The floor is white, as is the ceiling. the room I am in is a kitchen. Everything is white. The room is glowing, full of light. There is no sound. All is calm as if at rest. To my left a door opens. A man surrounded in white light steps into the room. He is holding a guitar. He is bathed in white light. It is Stevie Ray Vaughn. He pulls up a chair across from me at the table. He begins to play the guitar. Sweet music fills the room. It’s as if the all the angels are singing together. My spirit soars as I am carried along by the music. After a while, that felt timeless, he stopped playing. As we sat there across from each other on white chairs at a white table, in the white room, bathed in white light he looked deep into my eyes and spoke these words to me. "Music is Love. Love leads to Understanding and Understanding leads to Compassion." Then he got up from the table, turned and was gone. a short time later I awoke from the dream , his words repeating in my head, "Music is Love. Love leads to Understanding and Understanding leads to Compassion."

2019 marks the 55th consecutive year that I have played the guitar. My beginning as a musician actually goes back two years to 1962 when I took up playing Tenor Sax in the Jr High School Band. My first gig on guitar before a live audience was in May of 1964. The auditorium was packed with all 5th through 8th graders for the first annual Warren JHS Talent show. My partner in Rock & Roll was a fellow classmate, drummer "Mouse" Drabecki.
The first song we played was a 1950's hit, RamRod. I played it on sax. The crowd was visibly agitated, spontaneously tapping their toes and snapping their fingers. The song was followed by a solid round of applause. I then switched to guitar. The song we played was the ( still) all time guitar / drum line aka, WIPE OUT. Within seconds of launching into that classic riff dah dah dah - dah dah dah - dah dah dah - dah dah..... the whole auditorium was on its' feet, clapping to the beat of the music. When we finished the song the roar of the crowd was deafening... the teachers were the judges and no, we didn't win the competition, that went to a rich kid named Mc Farland, who played some crap on coronet!....
In celebration of 5 Decades of making music on guitar, I will be releasing various videos and music tracks from times before. The first video is from 1993 recorded live on location at "Dance Across Texas, a ten thousand square foot Country Music nightclub that reigned supreme in the early 1990's breaking such acts as, Brooks & Dunn, Pam Tillis, Jon Anderson, Selena and more. The song is a Hank Williams Jr cut entitled, "Good Friends Good Whiskey & Good Lovin".

The song / video soundtrack "George Harrison-A Tribute" from my 2002 CD, Transparent, continued to hold the # 9 chart position on the Classic Rock Top 40 Charts at Museeks.com , even as the website recently went offline. George Harrison-A Tribute held the # 9 position from December of 2010 until February of 2012. In November of 2009 the song was at #17, and steadily worked its way up the charts. Museeks.com was a web based music site offering free streaming audio as well as purchase options for CDs and mp3s and artist website linkups.. Museeks.com had been around for over 10 years featuring a wide variety of styles of music from established labels as well as independent artists and carried over 1.5 million songs and 200,000 major and indie label CDs/videos .

"The Alternate Root" compares Jim Keaveny favorably with the likes of Texas own Townes Van Zandt, as well as, Arlo Guthrie and Bob Dylan. Jim is currently on a US Tour and will be taking his enlivening style of American Roots Music to several European Countries including Holland, Belgium and England.

On November 14th and 15th, 2008, the song, "Back From The Warzone" from the record "Leddfinger- Instrumental Electric Guitar Music" was featured in the dance production, "Dancers At Work", which took place in the 200-seat Great Hall at Marymount Manhattan College in Manhattan. Vanessa Gale performed her original dance routine to Back From The Warzone a total of three performances during the two night premier.

Around 1998 here in Austin, TX, I started noticing persistent trails left by jets in the sky above me. I noticed that unlike normal jet contrails which only happened occasionally and lasted only a brief time, these trails not only stretched out across the sky from horizon to horizon, they spread out forming dense overcast conditions. Bo Diddley was in Austin recently for a show at the Paramount Theater. His show was upbeat and lively despite a recent back operation and the loss of some toes to diabetes. He had his trademark square red guitar and led the audience through a resounding "HEY BO DIDDLEY" call/ answer session. He also sang a new tune called "Wake Up America". Who would of thought that he would have such insight into current affairs...Thank You Bo Diddley!
