Favorite on my list is the winner of category 66, Best Traditional Blues Album, "Joined At The Hip" by Pinetop Perkins & Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith. Pinetop makes Austin his home and frequently plays around town, especially at Antones. Here's a picture of Pinetop and me at Antones

Others on my list include category 15. Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance "Helter Skelter" by Paul McCartney, category 19. Best Rock Instrumental Performance, "Hammerhead" by Jeff Beck, category 60. Best Rock Song, "Angry World" by Neil Young and last but by no means least category 67. Best Contemporary Blues Album, "Living Proof" by Buddy Guy.

Antones brought in the New Year in a big way, featuring, Headliner and 2010 Grammy nominee, Jimmie Vaughan, 2010 Grammy nominee, PINETOP PERKINS, and Austin's very own Queen Of The Blues, LOU ann BARTON !! Just before midnight, Jimmie and his band were joined onstage by none other than Texas own, The Reverend Billy G of ZZ TOP fame!! Billy stayed onstage for a couple songs, counting down the New Year with the entire audience!!
My latest recording is titled EQUATORIA and features eight new songs, including three new guitar driven instrumentals, a fresh hot blues number, Cryin' Won't Stop The Rain and my personal interpretation of two of JIMI HENDRIX’S most powerful compositions, PURPLE HAZE and VOODOO CHILD (SLIGHT RETURN)). Music Man, a new record release by Austin, Texas Roots / Americana singer / songwriter Jim Keaveny hits # 11 on "Roots Music Report. "The Alternate Root" compares Jim Keaveny favorably with the likes of Texas own Townes Van Zandt, as well as, Arlo Guthrie and Bob Dylan. Jim is currently on a US Tour and will be taking his enlivening style of American Roots Music to several European Countries including Holland, Belgium and England.

On November 14th and 15th, 2008, the song, "Back From The Warzone" from the record "Leddfinger- Instrumental Electric Guitar Music" was featured in the dance production, "Dancers At Work", which took place in the 200-seat Great Hall at Marymount Manhattan College in Manhattan. Vanessa Gale performed her original dance routine to Back From The Warzone a total of three performances during the two night premier.

Around 1998 here in Austin, TX, I started noticing persistent trails left by jets in the sky above me. I noticed that unlike normal jet contrails which only happened occasionally and lasted only a brief time, these trails not only stretched out across the sky from horizon to horizon, they spread out forming dense overcast conditions. Finally in 2007 I shot a video of what I was seeing. The video has been viewed to date by 205, 420 people and is called

Up and comers, the CARSON ALEXANDER BAND provided the rest of the line up, solidly nailing the vibe of these 2 MUSICAL GIANTS!!

Bo Diddley was in Austin recently for a show at the Paramount Theater. His show was upbeat and lively despite a recent back operation and the loss of some toes to diabetes. He had his trademark square red guitar and led the audience through a resounding "HEY BO DIDDLEY" call/ answer session. He also sang a new tune called "Wake Up America". Who would of thought that he would have such insight into current affairs...Thank You Bo Diddley!
